For a long time, I’ve kept a list of all the books I read in a year. In fact, I started my book list in April of 1991, so I’ll have 20 years of reading recorded there as of this spring. I like looking back, once in a while, and thinking about books I’ve enjoyed. The book titles are good memory prompts. Sometimes I am reminded that I should look up the author of this book or that and see what they have written lately. This year, rather than posting blog entries about books on Willow House Chronicles, I decided that I would begin a separate blog and review each book I read in 2011 as I finish it. So far, I’ve read 3 books since January 1st.
I invite you to drop by Willow Books and see what’s new. I hope that the reviews may inspire some entries for your own reading list. If you’ve read a book that is reviewed, I’d love to hear what you thought about it. Of course, all comments are welcome! To visit, click on the blog title, above. There is also a link at the top right of the Willow House Chronicles home page.
I’ve always wanted to do that, thanks for the inspiration. I think I’ll start mine today.
I’m sure that, once you get into the habit, you’ll enjoy your list, Shanda.
it’s no wonder you always have a book recommendation or two no matter what topic i might be talking about 🙂 i love books, and i will check out your new blog.
Thank you, Ana. Nice to have you visit.
Very interesting! My problem is always sitting down to write the reviews. I’ve read a few books so far this year but haven’t got posts on them up yet. Perhaps Willow Books will inspire me to be more active!
Hi Chels. Yeah, if you really want to do a good job, talk about the characters, historical accuracy, yaddayaddayadda, you can spend a lot of time on a review. I’m looking to keep it simple and just give some idea of what the book is about and how I liked it. Nothing too complex. I hope you post more reviews! I enjoy reading them.
What a great idea! I’ve been meaning to make notes some of the books I’ve been reading, so maybe this is the inspiration I need!
I’m always interested in hearing about what others are reading, Eyegillian.
