I see the name Stamile a lot. And, I usually like what I see. Out of this batch, though, I think I like August Morn the best. I’m getting quite a few deformed flowers this year on my new plants. I wonder what’s going wrong.
Oh my – which to choose as favs – Navaho Princess especially, also Helter Skelter, Rainbow Spangles and the last one are stunning – but all are truly beautiful! Don’t you just love daylilies??
Hi we came over from Louise’s to see your beautiful daylillies…oh my goodness. Not only are the beautiful but you have been loving and caring for them for a very long time by the age under each.
We will be back,
Madi and Mom
Hi Louise, Stamile = Pat and Grace, a couple of schoolteachers who left teaching for a career as hybridizers. Grace usually does minis and Pat the larger flowers. You seem to like the gentle, refined look. August Morn was new last year, so I don’t have much experience with it yet. They’re all my favorites!
Anya, I like those ones too! Some have special meaning because of their names. I got Fencing Master when my youngest daughter was on the university fencing team, and Hurricane Sky reminds me of a trip to Galveston, which had a major hurricane in 1900. I love them all too.
Madi and Mom, Welcome! Thanks for dropping by. The name under each daylily picture is the breeder who hybridized this flower and the year is the date that it was registered. Daylilies are registered with the American Hemerocallis Society.
