I enjoy recording each of the daylilies as their first blooms of the year appear, but the daylilies are just a part of the garden. At this time of year, they add brilliant splashes of colour to a rich tapestry. Here are some photographs that give an overview of the yard in midsummer. The opening photo shows a view of the garden illuminated by the morning sun as seen from the front door of the house. If you look closely, you can just make out a horse in the field at the end of the yard. The closing photo is a similar view taken when the garden has been wrapped in evening shadows.
