Autumn Minaret (Stout 1951)
If you can’t get enough of gardens, a great jumping-off point for tours is Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day, hosted by Carol over at May Dreams Gardens. There are links to a plethora of interesting garden blogs where you can check out what’s blooming in many different regions. I took a walk around my garden this morning to see what was in bloom and offer a selection of photos here. Although the height of summer bloom is past, there is still lots to admire, including some late daylilies. Pictured above is Autumn Minaret, an old cultivar that stands over 5 feet tall.

Silphium perfoliatum (Cup Plant)

Agastache 'Heatwave'

Ligularia dentata 'Othello'

Scarlet Runner Beans

Echinacea 'Green Jewel'

Sheri — You just gave me a great garden tour yourself — thanks — barbara
I love the Echinacea ‘Green Jewel’ – how different and pretty that is!
The Anemone you have is Anemone x ‘Honorine Jobert’, aka Windflower and Japanese Anemone. I have them too and totally love them! Wish I had more!
Happy GBBD 🙂
Your garden must be a blaze of glorious color.
Barbara, thanks for your nice words. Glad to be able to share it with you.
Christine, thanks for dropping by. This anemone pre-dates me in this garden so I’m not certain what it is but I agree with you on ‘Honorine Jobert’. I’m lucky to have a nice big clump of it. I also have ‘September Charm and ‘Pink Saucer’, which are a bit later. Happy GBBD to you too!
Louise, not so bright as when the daylilies were in full swing, but still nice. Already waiting for next year’s daylilies!
Your blooms are stunning…especially the cup plant and echinacea…so beautiful! Happy GBBD!
Beautiful blooms…love the Agastache! My ‘Golden Jubilee’ is sort of fading away fast this year, almost time for a trim to renew it…love those Scarlet Runner Beans…so charming!
Thank you, Butterfly!
Scott, I’m very fond of agastache but it tends to be short lived here. The Golden Jubilee would probably be doing better if it were in a bit sunnier of a location. Thanks for visiting!
Wonderful flowers… wonderful photos! Oh, I love anemones! Those look like the ones in my neighbor’s yard. She called them Japanese Anemones. I love how their graceful blooms balance on those long stems… so pretty!
Shari, when I received your comment I realized I had accidentally linked GBBD to August instead of September! Thanks for visiting, and I hope you will pop back and see the September GBBD too!
What a gorgeous variety of blooms you have this September! You’re the first person I’ve seen who’s featured the ‘Heat Wave’ agastache besides me–isn’t this plant fabulous? The blooms last so long, and the hummingbirds and pollinators love it; I just hope it likes Illinois winters:) I love the late daylilies; you’ve given me lots of ideas for plant additions for next year–thanks!
Rose, I accidentally linked GBBD to August instead of September! I hope you will pop back and see the September GBBD too! The ‘Heat Wave’ agastache is still going strong and I’m anxious to see how it survives the winter here. Thanks for visiting.
Pretty blooms! i love that your sunflowers are volunteers planted by the birds!
Beautiful post…Love the Agastache…and I’m such a fan of the Silphium. ‘Autumn Minaret’ is seriously tempting me into making the Daylily plunge.
All of your September blooms are beautiful, but I particularly struck by the lovely echinacea ‘green jewel’…absolutely stunning! Happy GBBD!
