As I was returning home along a country road, I could see something across the road ahead. As I drew closer, I realized the obstruction was a sting of Wild Turkeys. I stopped the car and took a photograph of the flock.
They seemed to be waiting for the mailman. I think they must have been expecting a cheque today.
They were reluctant to leave, but as I crept closer, they took off in a flurry of wings.
Closer to home, I spotted this handsome red fox. Seems like everyone was out enjoying the beautiful day.
Turkeys! Aren’t they beautiful! I wish they could get the border problem in Maine cleared up so they could come into New Brunswick.
My guess is that the gaggle you saw had just posted the “Beware of Dog” sign and then hid the fact by making it look like they were there to wait for the postie.
Nice classic shot of the fox, too.
Isn’t it interesting how fast they have reestablished themselves. Thirty years ago you would never see one and now you could say they are common. You would think they would be very poor at surviving but obviously that is not the case.
