Interesting how these are planted. I have visited Iowa a few times, my mom grew up there. I remember her telling me about “walking the beans”. That meant she pulled weeds. This photo seems to indicate that no one is walking the beans. LOL
Hi wildflower. That’s an interesting expression, walking the beans. This field isn’t actually that bad. This section had a dip that seemed to have favoured horsetail. I just liked the way the rows curve. But I can say for sure no one will be walking this or any other field. It’s all about Round-up ready crops and spraying pesticides etc.and acres and acres of corn and soybeans. Industrial agriculture.
There are a few CSA farms around, but mostly huge fields of decidedly un-organic corn and soybeans. I suppose much of the continent’s best farmland is so used and abused.

Nice shot!

Thanks for this info. Interesting. Do you also have organic crops in your area?

I think you are correct….”the almighty dollar”!

Good job of making a soybean field look interesting!
