Moey Meets Cushion

I recently purchased a cushion for the living room. I brought it home and placed it on a chair, where it was ignored by all the cats. Until, for some inscrutable feline reason, it caught Moey’s attention. She began rubbing up against it and rolling around as if the cushion contained catnip. Then, just as suddenly as it came, her interest faded and she moved on to other important cat activities such as looking out the window. She’s ignored it ever since.

The Innocent Nose Test

This plant is growing in the garden. It smells minty. Hmm. Could it be catnip? I decided to poll the experts. I picked a few sprigs and placed them in the empty hallway. Within a minute or two, this was the scene:
