Mousie was pretty surprised when, after loafing about all winter, her fair-weather rider showed up and brushed her. Here she is, looking over her shoulder at some of the winter coat I brushed out of her.
She was even more surprised when the saddle showed up. “What, you still have that old thing??”

Mousie was perfectly behaved, in spite of her surprise. We didn’t ride too far, though, because Czarina was also very surprised by this turn of events and was very upset to see her paddock partner disappearing out of view. Still, it was a very pleasant spring outing. Here is the view back toward the barn as taken from Mousie.
